Treasures abound in Simi

I don’t think most residents of Simi Valley realize what a gem our city is. Most cities are not quite so culturally rich with heritage. Places like Strathearn Park, the Old Santa Susana Train Depot, the WW II museum and Bottle Village among other things, not to mention the Reagan Library.

We are so so lucky!

We also have the most magnificent library. I have checked out libraries all over the United States. The Friends of the Library bookstore is literally the best used-library bookstore of any I have ever seen, with the best prices ($1 for hardcovers and 50 cents for paperbacks).

We also have such wonderful activities there. Please join them for the Family Book Festival on Sat., Feb 2. Dress like a pirate, meet author June Sobel, animator Aaron Hammersley, and have fun participating in lots of crafts. It will be really fun.

Whenever my friends and family come to visit, I take them on a tour of our community. They are always, always impressed.

Yes, we are not perfect, but our community is pretty cool. We should be proud.
