In favor of tax cuts

A recent letter titled “Tax cuts won’t work” really caught my interest. The writer advised us that Reagan’s trickle-down tax cuts didn’t work and led to a recession.

The writer didn’t care for Bush’s tax cuts either, and believes that this latest round of tax cuts will lead us to a “great depression.” Yes, she stated an actual “Great Depression,” which is laughable.

I seem to recall Reagan winning reelection 49 states to 1. This is a fact. I guess people hated keeping more of their money. Best of luck the next 84 months.

I saw a posting Dec. 29 entitled “Tax cuts won’t work.” If the writer thinks that increasing taxes is preferable to lowering them, perhaps she can explain how President Reagan was credited with 20 million jobs and overseeing a huge economic expansion based on massive tax cuts.

If you don’t think tax cuts work, feel free to send more of your money to government.

Higher gas taxes anyone? On a local level, can anyone explain why admission to a high school sporting event needs to cost between $20 and $30 for an average family, especially when there is hardly anyone in the stands?

We’d like to support our local schools and athletes, but wouldn’t they draw more fans with lower prices?

Suppose we’ll just wait for the tax cuts to be fully implemented so that we can afford to spend more locally. Have a blessed day Simi.
