Honorees announced for Evening of Hope


 

 

The Cancer Support Community Valley/Ventura/Santa Barbara has announced its slate of honorees and two celebrity hosts for the Evening of Hope Gala on Sat., April 27 at the Four Seasons Westlake Village.

In addition to the awards presentation, the evening will also have a cocktail reception with music by pianist Bryson de Ruyter, dinner, live and silent auctions, entertainment and dancing.

Recording star, actor and director James Darren and television correspondent Jim Moret will form a father-son celebrity emcee duo for the evening.

Holly Spiegel will receive the Celebration of Hope award for facing breast cancer on her own (humorous and irreverent) terms.

The Celebration of Life award will go to CSCVVSB board member Laurie Peterson for her leadership and service on behalf of families affected by cancer.

Dr. Timothy O’Connor, chair of the St. John’s Regional Medical Center Cancer Program, will be given the Celebration of Excellence award for his work in providing innovative and comprehensive cancer care to his patients.

The City of Westlake Village will receive the organization’s Celebration of Philanthropy award for being a supportive partner to the Cancer Support Community for nearly three decades.

Proceeds from the gala will fund organization’s programs of support and education for adults and children affected by cancer.
