Holiday pinecones adorn Bethany Tree boutique

Festive trinkets available through Sunday

The annual Bethany Tree Boutique will take place Fri. through Sun., Nov. 17 to 19 at its new location at AmericanVision Windows, 2125 N. Madera Road, Simi Valley.

The hours will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Bethany Trees are painted pinecones embellished with donated jewels and trinkets. Each pinecone has a theme: cancer survival, Christmas, man-caves, wine, Easter and Charlie Brown, to name a few.

Individuals who donate old or broken jewelry, ribbon and trinkets will receive free raffle tickets at the event.

This effort has been going on for 12 years through word of mouth. Laurie Steinfeld opens up her home in early October, converting her kitchen and dining area into a workshop for anyone who wants to make a tree.

Simi HOG Ladies of Harley had a group night, as did women from Rocketdyne. Families come together to make trees.

All donations offered for Bethany Trees go toward three charities. All participating vendors donate a minimum of 20 percent of their profits, while others contribute 100 percent of their profits from boutique sales.

The event will benefit: ForeverFound.org to fight against sex trafficking; CPCSimi.org providing pregnancy counseling for young women; and children living in Bethany Village, Uganda.
