Each year, the Simi Valley Education Foundation grants scholarships to deserving students so they can attend college, technical or vocational schools.

Students are chosen from the five local high schools as well as one from Moorpark College.

The 2021 scholarship recipients are:

Apollo High School: Misrael Sandoval.

Monte Vista School: Ali Stevens.

Royal High School: Alexander Edgar, Riya Manimaran, Molly Cooper and Cailah Lim.

Santa Susana High School: Vivek Tarapara, Mahathi Ryali and Howra Alammarah.

Simi Valley High School: Ashley Kilmnick, Maya Tauber and Morgan Wang.

Moorpark College: Luke Barrella.

The 2021 endowment recipients for two-year community colleges are Mohnish Kapil Maini, Aniya Booths and Lizbette Rodriguez, all of Apollo High School.

The Walt Fuller Foundation donated $10,000 toward the scholarship program. Jenny Fuller, widow of the late Walt Fuller, is an SVEF board member.

In addition, the educational foundation awards three two-year scholarships of $1,000 per year to students enrolling in a local community college each fall.

The endowment program was established to honor the wishes of the original donor to help students who cannot afford to fund their education.

The two-year scholarships are presented to high school seniors who demonstrate a strong desire to succeed by obtaining a college education.
