Casino night benefits charities


The Knights of Columbus, Council 9410, will host the sixth annual Charity Texas Hold ’em Tournament and Monte Carlo Night at 6 p.m. Sat., May 5 in the West Hall at St. Peter Claver Parish, 5649 Pittman St., Simi Valley.

The tournament will help raise funds for local charities, including Gold Coast Veterans Foundation, a nonprofit organization that helps Ventura County veterans with medical, housing, job placement and other needs.

Monies also go to Get On the Bus, which helps reunite children with their incarcerated mothers on Mother’s Day, and the Samaritan Center in Simi Valley.

The price to participate is $75 for the poker tournament and $50 for Monte Carlo play.

Admission cost also includes a catered barbecue dinner.
