Adventist Health foundation names new executive director of philanthropy

Adventist Health Simi Valley has selected Kathryn M. Stiles to serve as executive director of philanthropy at the Adventist Health Simi Valley Foundation.

Stiles joined Adventist Health Simi Valley in 2016 as the director of marketing and communications. In May 2018 she moved into a new role as the director of community integration to implement community health improvement initiatives

Stiles joined the hospital’s foundation on June 1.

As executive director of philanthropy, she will be responsible for developing a philanthropy program that will help the hospital plan for future growth.

She will also help grow the foundation’s existing programs and create a new capital campaign to expand the hospital’s operating capacity and enhance the patient experience.

Stiles said that she is excited to lead a philanthropy program that will support healthcare in Simi Valley, allowing Adventist

Health to expand services.

“Our hospital is growing rapidly and has attracted talented physicians who need more space in which to operate. The hospital has invested in three state-of-the-art surgical robots and is doing advanced surgical procedures in four operating rooms that need to be expanded and multiplied to support the needs of our patients, surgeons and clinical teams,” Stiles said.

Stiles holds a Bachelor of Science in business marketing from Cal State Sacramento and serves on the governing boards of the Moorpark College Foundation, United Way of Ventura County and Cancer Support Community.

Prior to Adventist Health, Stiles worked for Loma Linda University Medical Center Murrieta, serving on the executive team for five years.

With a background in nonprofit marketing and communications, she has been a business owner, entrepreneur, consultant, homeschooling mom, yoga teacher, chef and a philanthropy leader.

She and her husband of 32 years have two adult children and a daughter-in-law as well as twin grandchildren.
