YMCA offering group, private swim lessons

Southeast Ventura County YMCA branches are offering opportunities for adults and kids to learn to swim and become water safe during the summer.

One-week sessions are running through Aug. 19.

Lessons will be held at the indoor pools at Simi Valley Family YMCA, 3200 Cochran St.; Conejo Valley YMCA, 4031 N. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks; and Miller Family YMCA, 320 Via Las Brisas, Newbury Park.

The Triunfo YMCA will conduct swim lessons at the Agoura High School pool, 28545 Driver Ave.

Thirty-minute group and private lessons are available Monday through Thursday and on Saturdays. Children will be placed in swim classes based on their level of experience.

The National YMCA has introduced new swim program names this year: Swim Starters for parent and child, Swim Basics teaching recommended skills for anyone around water, and Swim Strokes, skills to support a healthy lifestyle.
