Peplinski named to national committee

Jason Peplinski, superintendent of the Simi Valley Unified School District, was recently elected to sit on the Suburban School Superintendents, a group made up of up to 150 public school superintendents from across the nation.

Peplinski will have a voice in brainstorming about the best ways to improve public education throughout the United States.

The Suburban School Superintendents is a 52-year-old organization of public school superintendents from throughout the country.

Its mission is to “improve the quality of educational opportunities.”

Peplinski was nominated by peer members of the organization and elected by the whole.

He has served as SVUSD superintendent since October 2014. Before that, he held numerous administrative positions, including assistant superintendent of educational services for SVUSD, principal of Santa Susana High School and principal of Moorpark High School.

SVUSD serves about 17,000 K-12 students, along with preschool and adult education students, on 28 campuses.
