Nancy Louise Falconer

04/19/1939 – 04/20/2017

A longtime Simi Valley resident, Nancy passed away after a brief illness.

NANCY WAS BORN IN LOS ANGELES. She was always an excellent student, and received the highest marks in all her subjects. After graduating from Van Nuys High School in 1960, she headed straight to the University of Arizona to pursue her dream, which was to coach athletics. While at U of A, Nancy studied hard and excelled in several sports. Sadly, a knee injury sidelined her career.

Nancy returned to Los Angeles and went to work in banking. She began her lifelong career at Security First National Bank, which later became Security Pacific Bank. She worked there for 28 years, working various positions and rose to assistant manager. In 1991, Nancy decided to pursue a private business venture, and began Falconer’s Business Services. She handled all manner of clerical work and taxes for private clients.

In 1995, Nancy began a “second career” working for Rotary International as a club secretary, eventually becoming the secretary for District 5240. During her tenure, she was a three-time recipient of the prestigious Paul Harris Award. Nancy was an avid fisherman and an accomplished bowler. She participated in league bowling for many years, and won many trophies. At one time, she carried a 266 average for an entire month.

Nancy met her lifelong friend and roommate Georgia Trumble while working at Security First Bank. Nancy and Georgia lived together for 54 years, and Georgia is and will always be more than Nancy’s roommate, she is family. Nancy will be missed by everyone whose lives she touched.

Nancy is survived by younger brother Arthur Telfer (Estancia, NM) and nephews Robert (Simi Valley) and Shawn (Henderson, NV). Nancy’s extended family includes some notables. Her cousin, Bobby Beathard, is considered one of the smartest men in football. Bobby’s son, Casey, is a talented songwriter with many Top 10 country hits, and Casey’s two sons, C.J. and Tucker, are high achievers, too. C.J. was recently acquired by the San Francisco 49ers, and Tucker has several Top 10 hits on the country charts.
