Choirs to perform ’60s-era rock classics

The Simi Valley-based Los Robles Master Chorale will present “Peace and Love,” a joint concert with the Agoura High School choirs, at 4 p.m. Sun., March 19 at the Agoura High performing arts education center, 28545 Driver Ave.

Members of the 105-voice Los Robles Master Chorale are from Camarillo, Westlake Village, Simi Valley, Moorpark, Newbury Park and Thousand Oaks.

The family-friendly concert will include Bernstein’s “Chichester Psalms” as well as ’60s-era rock classics by the Mamas and the Papas, Simon & Garfunkel, Bob Dylan, the Fifth Dimension, Pete Seeger, Joni Mitchell, Burt Bacharach, the Beatles and Peter, Paul and Mary.

Songs from the musical “Hair” will be performed as well.

The conductor is Lesley Leighton, LRMC’s artistic director. Chad Bloom directs the Agoura High School choirs.

The concert will include period costumes, a rock band and psychedelic lighting.

Tickets are $29 for adults, $22 for seniors and $18 for students.
