The Simi Valley Education Foundation will present Cycling for Education from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m Sat., Sept. 24 starting at the Simi Valley Metrolink Station, 5050 Los Angeles Ave.

Bikers of all levels can take part in rides, family cruise rides and a kids’ area with its own track.

The event will also have an expo with a variety of vendors offering cycling-, health- and family fun-related items. Face painting will be offered.

Small push bike races will be held in a kids’ area. Children can come decorate their bikes and then race for a medal. Everyone is a winner. Several races will be run throughout the day.

Family cruise rides will travel along the city’s 10-mile bike path along the arroyo. This ride is slow paced and suitable for all levels of fitness. Riders need to bring a helmet and a bike.

A 25-mile ride around Simi Valley and a 50-mile ride into surrounding communities will be offered as well.

All riders will receive a free goody bag. The 25- and 50-mile riders will also receive a T-shirt.
