Moorpark boy continues toy drive

For the fourth straight year Casey Abrams, 10, will be running his annual toy drive. The donated new and unwrapped toys will be given to hospitalized children at Mattel Children’s Hospital at UCLA.

Casey was born with a rare progressive and degenerative disease of his intestines. He spends much of his life at Mattel Children’s Hospital, including many holidays and birthdays. At age 6, Casey decided that he wanted to give the kids at the hospital an awesome holiday.

Toys can be dropped off at these donation sites: Casey’s home at 13335 Laurelhurst Road, Moorpark; the Hawk family home at 29275 Quail Run Drive, Agoura; Harley’s Simi Bowl at 480 E. Los Angeles Ave., Simi Valley, and Conejo Community Park at 1175 Hendrix Ave., Thousand Oaks.

Casey is also collecting donations via PayPal.

Moorpark Brownie Troop 60936 will host a kickoff event on Tues., Nov. 19 at Peach Hill Academy in Moorpark.

The Lost Cruizer’zz and the SoCal Challengers car clubs will host the final donation wrap-up on Sun., Dec. 15 at 29275 Quail Run Drive, Agoura Hills.
