Alleged drug sale lands mother in county jail
A Fontana mother faces felony and misdemeanor charges after being arrested last week on suspicion of selling her controlled substance prescription to a Simi Valley resident while her two children were present.
Adella Carrillo, 27, allegedly drove from Fontana to Simi Valley on Wed., Aug. 21 to sell patches of Fentanyl, a drug that is similar to morphine, to a resident in the 2300 block of Kuehner Drive.
She was arrested at 6 p.m. that day by the Ventura County Interagency Pharmaceutical Crimes Unit, sheriff’s officials said. The information was received in an anonymous tip.
Carrillo’s daughters, age 7 years and 7 months, were with her during the sale, according to a press release from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.
Ventura County Children and Family Services conducted a child endangerment investigation and the two girls were released to the agency.
An investigation involving Medi-Cal insurance fraud was also conducted and is one of the charges against Carrillo.
She is being held on $50,000 bail in the Ventura County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
