Benefit concert aids clinic’s dental program

Show on Saturday in Ventura

The Free Clinic of Simi Valley’s dental clinic is the latest beneficiary of a benefit concert by Rock for a Cause, a monthly charity event organization that raises funds and awareness to local causes through music.

The benefit concert is set from 5 to 10 p.m. Sat., Feb. 18 at Franky’s Place, 456 E. Main St., Ventura.

Rock for a Cause will feature four bands with one-hour acoustic poetry opener, opportunity drawing and balloon animals.

Scheduled to perform are The Sisters and Misters, Ignition, Angie’s Curse, Kelly’s Lot and Beat Musicians Hour (acoustic poetry).

The cost of admission is $3 and 100 percent of the door charge as well as 10 percent of food and drink revenues goes to benefit the dental clinic.

The first show last October by Rock for a Cause allocated $569 for Ribbons of Life Breast Cancer Foundation.

The Free Clinic of Simi Valley provides medical services as a nonprofit, volunteer-based community service organization. It provides medical care, counseling, dental and legal assistance to individuals and families, regardless of their ability to pay.
