The Pioneers’ reclamation project continues tonight.

Simi Valley High’s football team opens the season at 7 p.m. at home against Golden Valley.

The Pioneers posted a 1-9 overall record last year. Their lone win was a 28-14 triumph over Calabasas.

Golden Valley was 0-10 in 2009.

This is Simi Valley’s only preseason outing before its ninegame Marmonte League schedule begins Sept. 16 at Agoura. Simi’s rivalry game against Royal, which typically is held at the end of the year, falls during midseason, on Oct. 15, at home.
