Webelos Woods offers intro to Scouting

Boys in Simi Valley and Moorpark are invited to experience the Webelos Woods Boy Scout program from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sat., Sept. 11 at Corriganville Park, 7001 Smith Road, Simi Valley.

Webelos Woods is an adventure designed to introduce fifthand sixth-grade boys and their parents to the Boy Scout troops in the Simi Valley/Moorpark area.

At the event, guests can get to know the people in the troops, learn how the scouting program works and see each troop’s schedule of activities.

Boys will have a chance to experience outdoor activities that include archery, slingshot, catapults, monkey bridge and other individual and team challenges.

Boy Scouts is a year-round program for boys ages 11 through 17 designed to provide an outdoor program and peer group leadership with adult guidance.
