Young people can learn about traditional American music at the Americana MusicFest from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sun., Oct. 3 at Paramount Ranch in Agoura at 2903 Cornell Road. Scenes from “Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman” and other TV shows and movies were shot there.

There will be performances on three stages featuring various genres and styles, an instrument petting zoo, instrumental and vocal workshops, arts and crafts, other activities for children, and food and beverages.

Proceeds from the MusicFest will help the Kiwanis Club of Thousand Oaks Charitable Foundation, which in turn will help educate, benefit and empower children.

Bring instruments, lawn chairs and sunscreen, and enjoy the fun.

Advance tickets, if ordered before Sept. 15, are $10 for adults, $8 for youths under age 18.

Kids under 5 get in free.
