A one-day swim clinic to promote water safety skills for children ages 7 to 16 will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fri., Aug. 6 at the Simi Valley Family YMCA’s indoor aquatics center.

Participants will focus on freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, stroke turns and finishes. Instructors will provide feedback and tips for swimmers in and out of the water.

Cost is $20 for YMCA full members or $35 for program members. Participants should bring a swim suit, towel and snack. Swim goggles are optional.

Adult summer swim clinics are from 7 to 7:30 p.m. each Wednesday. The adult clinics are free for full members and $10 per session for program members.

The YMCA also offers small group and private swim lessons.
