Gala fundraiser to revisit the hippie days of the ’60s
The second annual Simi Valley Days Gala Dinner, “The ’60s Turn 50,” will be at 7 p.m. Sat., Aug. 7 at Giovanni’s Steak and Seafood Restaurant, 2585 Cochran St., Simi Valley.
The music, decor and attire will reflect the historical decade that produced flower power, hippies, bell bottoms and Woodstock.
The gala, which is a fundraiser to help support Simi Valley Days, will honor the Kiwanis clubs of Simi Valley and Santa Susana, the sponsors of SVD.
The event will feature dinner, music, live and silent auctions, and special awards. Mayor Paul Miller will receive the Simi Valley Days Volunteer Award for his involvement in the local community.
Simi Valley Days will run from Sept. 15 to 19.
Gala tickets are $65 through July and $75 after Aug. 1. To order tickets, call Colleen at (805) 338-5582 or e-mail svdays2010 @gmail.com.
