Why we should fear illegal immigration
In his June 11 letter to the Acorn, Arthur Hernandez asserts, “It (opposition to illegal immigration) is an all-consuming fear of a man looking for work, at any price, that makes us forget the values of a free society.”
No, opposition to illegal immigration is the legitimate fear of seeing our nation transformed into a third-world entity of ruined public schools, chaotic neighborhoods where no English is spoken, soiled-diaper-littered parks and beaches, people living 10 or more to a residence, junk cars clogging the streets and lawns and driveways, and above all where employers hire illegals at wages so low that American citizens cannot take those jobs and support themselves decently.
It is the fear of overwhelmed emergency rooms, welfare and social services; preening, worthless, pandering political leaders; and, finally, the crowning jewel of murderous street gangs working for Mexican drug lords who gun down children for street cred.
The people of Arizona deserve our gratitude for showing us the way. God bless them and give them the courage they will surely need to stand up to the crusading (jerks) who oppose them.
