Local martial arts students succeed

FEARSOME FIGHTERS—In May, five students from the American Martial Arts Academy in Simi Valley were selected to the California United Taekwondo Team and represented the state at the International Taekwondo Festival on May 29. From left to right are Brian Kim, 24, of Chatsworth and Eric Mastrolonardo, 15; Derek Le, 17; Caroline Bui, 16; and Alex Mastrolonardo, 17, all of Simi Valley. Their goal is to win at U.S. Nationals in July and go on to make the U.S. National Team at the end of the year.
