Vintage bikes on display
An exhibit of vintage Honda motorcycles will be shown from June 20 to Sept. 26 at the California Oil Museum in downtown Santa Paula.
“Honda Motorcycles: Early Years to Present Day Racing” will feature nine motorcycles from 1952 to 1967 and one 1994 rare racing machine. All bikes are from the collection of Ron Mousouris of Carpenteria, a collector of vintage Hondas and a master restorer.
A reception with Mousouris is set from 1 to 3 p.m. Sun., June 20.
Exhibit hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays.
Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for seniors, $1 for students age 6 to 17 and free for ages 5 and under.
One of the featured bikes is a 1954 Honda Benly J. The name “Benly” is an altered Japanese word that means “convenient” in English. The Benly J of 1954 was the first Honda motorcycle ever raced in international competition, the Sao Paolo Brazil endurance race.
