Liberty Miller ended her decorated high school career in style.

Although the Simi Valley High senior didn’t win a state championship, Miller finished second in the girls’ 3,200-meter race at last weekend’s CIF state track and field finals at Buchanan High’s Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis.

Simi Valley’s long-distance running star finished the race in 10 minutes, 23 seconds. She was less than three seconds behind the winner, Molly Grabill of Rancho Bernardo (10:20.25).

Royal’s Travis Edwards finished seventh in a close boys’ 1,600, clocking in at 4:23.47. Teammate Sean Davidson placed 13th in the boys’ 3,200 (9:08.51).
