We should support Arizona’s efforts
The recent Arizona law has sparked mixed and highly volatile emotions. I’m surprised that standing tough on illegal immigration is so controversial.
By the way, the term is not “illegal Mexican immigration,” it is just illegal immigration. Our 2,000 miles of unprotected border allows entry of a much more terrifying prospect.
Our War on Terror should have been concentrating on this issue long ago, or do we have to have a car bomb parked at Dodger Stadium or a plane crash into Disneyland before everyone figures out we have a serious problem along our southern borders?
Head of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano is the former governor of Arizona and should know firsthand of the dangers of illegal immigration. The idea of our elected officials boycotting and condemning Arizona is disgraceful.
These people were voted into office and took an oath to uphold the law. The word alone indicated this is an unlawful act, and for them to speak out against Arizona is condoning an illegal act. This is not a race issue but a security issue, and sadly that very important point has been overlooked by our federal government, homeland security and many others who should be looking out for our safety.
