Calls Bob Huber critic into question
In Wayne Evans’ letter (June 4, Simi Valley Acorn) he said he has “spoken with Bob Huber at length.”
I happened to be standing next to Bob Huber at the Simi Valley Street Fair when Mr. Evans approached him and his campaign manager. He spoke to Bob Huber for less than one minute with general chitchat. Mr. Evans volunteered that he had not yet made up his mind who he is supporting for mayor.
Knowing full well that Mr. Evans had written at least two previously published negative letters to the editor about Bob, we all shook our heads in amazement and agreed Evans’ comment lacked any reasonable credibility.
I have since verified that brief street fair conversation was the only conversation Evans has ever had with Bob Huber. I’m surprised Mr. Huber was so gracious to Mr. Evans. Most people would have walked away from a person that has treated them so unfairly.
I don’t get Evans’ other hypocritical comment about running full page ads given the fact that his candidate has run multiple full page ads in a local magazine. I’m a firm believer that one should be careful casting stones while living in a glass house.
As a 27-year resident of Simi Valley married 28 years to a 43-year resident, I find it amusing that a relative newcomer from out of state knows who is the most qualified to serve our community.
