Dive in at public pools to cool off this summer

Rancho Simi Pool Rancho Simi Pool The Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District will have two pools available for swimming during the summer.

The Sycamore Drive Pool at 1692 Sycamore Drive will offer public swimming from June 12 through Aug. 24. Hours are from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday.

This is a 28-by-45-foot outdoor heated pool with depths from 3 to 9 feet. The site includes a tiny tot wading pool, picnic table, barbecues and a playground.

The Rancho Pool at 1765 Royal Ave. is open for public swimming from June 28 through Aug. 24. Hours are from 1 to 3:30 p.m. weekdays and from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

This is a 50-meter outdoor heated pool with depths of 3.5 to 15 feet. The pool has two onemeter diving boards and a threemeter diving board.

Admission at either pool is $3. Summer passes are available.

The splash pad is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Labor Day at Rancho Tapo Community Park, 3700 Avenida Simi. The pad has no standing water and participants do not need to know how to swim.

A new splash pad has opened at Oak Canyon Community Park, 5600 Hollytree Drive, Oak Park. The pad is open daily through Labor Day.
