The Simi Valley Elks Lodge 2492 announced the winners of the scholarship program at the recent Birthday Steak Dinner evening that took place on the Friday of Elks National Youth Week.

The scholarship winners each received a $500 scholarship for use at the college of their choice.

The winners are Breana Ashley Rivas, Apollo High School; Ciera Lowe, Santa Susana High School; and Kevin Kieselbach, Simi Valley High School.

Adam Esquer and Makayla Murphy, both from Santa Susana High School, were chosen as Students of the Year.

The Elks will be giving out scholarships again in the fall and in May 2011.

Students who wish to apply should check with their school counselors for the requirements.

All high school seniors are encouraged to apply.
