Please drive slowly by ball fields
Concerning the Darrah Baseball Fields, drivers who speed at 50 to 60 mph should be the ones to have healthy respect for the law.
Those speeds are way too fast to begin with. There have been cars that jumped the curb next door to me, across the street and at the baseball fields. My neighbor’s mailbox was run over by a truck. It too had jumped the curb.
One wonders how safe it is to retrieve the mail. At least the speed sign is there, but it still will not protect anyone in the crosswalk.
I love having the baseball fields there, so I urge all you wonderful people who patronize them to use extra caution when using that little (oh, so little) crosswalk.
