Cats on the loose can be a menace
I don’t think cats go missing because people hate cats (“Searching for a cat named Squeaky,” letters, Acorn , March 12). But they probably hate the extra work involved when your cat wanders off.
I have experienced for 18 years the extra work involved because cats are allowed to just wander off. I can’t tell you how much cat poop and hairballs I have had to pick up off my property.
And I am on my second dog, who, like a lot of dogs, likes to eat cat poop, which makes them sick. So every day I have to scout around my half-acre property to search and dispose of the cat poop before I can let my dog out.
I have one cat who just loves to make his deposits on my front lawn and always by my front door. I don’t hate cats, but I do hate this constant inconvenience.
