Seminar will discuss autism

The Ventura County Special Education Local Plan Area will host an autism services panel from 6 to 8:45 p.m. Wed., March 24 at Tri-Counties Regional Center, second floor, 1900 E. Los Angeles Ave., Simi Valley.

The panel will present various services which may be appropriate for a child with autism spectrum disorders. The panel is made up of a regional center clinical psychologist, special education administrator, special education teacher, speech-language pathologist, occupational therapist, school psychologist, behavior/social skills specialist, Rainbow representative, area board representative, autism society representative and a parent.

Attendees can ask questions and get information they need. Many speakers will stay after the presentation to answer questions.

There is no charge for the program. Free child care and Spanish or sign language interpretation are available if reserved five days in advance. No child care walk-ins will be allowed.
