B&G Club CEO honored by state assembly

Linda White, president and CEO of the Simi Valley Boys & Girls Club, was named Woman of the Year for the 38th Assembly District by Assemblymember Cameron Smyth. The California State Assembly recognized White with a ceremony in Sacramento on March 8 to celebrate Women’s History Month.     White started with the Boys & Girls Club in 1994. During her first year as CEO, White spearheaded a capital campaign to construct a state-of-the-art, dedicated youth facility for young members, and raised more than $1 million toward that goal. In 1996, club members moved into the new 25,000square-foot facility where 75 staff members were employed.

As CEO, White increased club membership from 100 members to more than 3,500. She has increased the operating budget from $300,000 to $1.7 million.
