Happy Face Hill needs ‘eye-lift’
I followed and supported the story line on the rejuvenation of the happy face on Happy Face Hill.
While certainly not one of our city’s top priorities, it does reflect a certain peace for the city which I have embraced.
I always enjoyed coming over the hill to see Happy Face welcome me home.
My only wish is that when Happy Face was redone we would be able to see the eyes. I strain to try and see if they are even there.
As a result, Happy Face does not seem to have the same standout quality it once had. I would suggest an eye-lift to bring out the features of the face.
Respecting those concerned with the amount of grass killer used to produce the face, how about recutting the eyes and laying large colored stones in that space?
At least that way it would be harder for them to disappear in overgrowth.
While we all have many more pressing issues to deal with in our daily lives, Happy Face does help remind of us of the good things in life. Especially now when our hills are so green.
Just a thought.
