Mormon church hosting emergency expo

The Emergency Preparedness Expo 2010 will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sat., March 13 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1276 Erringer Road, Simi Valley.

The event will have demonstrations on food and water storage, first aid, canning, emergency communications, family emergency planning and fire extinguishers.

Fifty-minute educational classes will be offered in gardening, budgeting, survival techniques, stress, home safety and preparing children for disasters.

The first 100 attendees will receive a free emergency survival DVD or gas wrench.The event is free and open to the public.
