The lost art of lawn care

I wonder if it’s just me or if others have noticed an increase in the number of owners or renters that allow their yard to receive what is apparently no maintenance or care?

This ever-increasing number of ill-maintained properties—with weeds and growth as much as 4 feet in height—is both aesthetically unpleasant and quite possibly poses a health hazard for citizens suffering from related allergies.

Does no city ordinance exist that prevents owners from allowing such growth? If not, there should be.

I would urge those people to make the effort to maintain their yards and parkways, if not for their own self-respect, at least to keep our city from looking like urban blight.
