Conejo Simi swimmers excel
Conejo Simi Swim Club athletes competed at the Southern California Swim Junior Olympics Championships in Long Beach.
In the 12-and-under events, JD Abernathy, Anita AgopyanMiu, Trenton Atkinson, Abby Chopp, Alisa Cooke, Allie Fogleman, Kyle Hillner, Tobias Hynes, Gabbie Libang and Wendy McAleer represented the swim club.
Twelve-year-old Trenton Atkinson led the charge, earning seventh in the 100 freestyle, eighth in the 50 freestyle and ninth in the 50 butterfly.
Representing Conejo Simi in the 13-and-over events were Alex Agopyan-Miu, Kyle Berg, Jordan Capper, Taylor Croissant, Anthony DeVetis, Shannyn Hultin, Yu-Bin Kim, Samantha Magnani, Anna Quinn and David Sommers.
Anna Quinn, 13, placed 10th in the 50 freestyle, eighth in the 100 butterfly, 12th in the 100 freestyle and 16th in the 200 fly.
Kyle Berg led the 13-14 boys, placing 11th in the 500 free, 16th in the 200 free and sixth in the 100 free.
In 15-18 girls, Shannyn Hultin, 16, placed first in the 400 IM, seventh in the 200 IM and fourth in the 200 breast.
Samantha Magnani, 17, was 16th in the 200 freestyle and 13th in the 100 free. Yu-Bin Kim, 15, was 10th in the 100 butterfly.
