Applications for children entering kindergarten for the 2010-2011 school year will be accepted at Simi Valley Unified elementary schools beginning March 1.

To be eligible for kindergarten, children must be 5 years old on or before Dec. 2. A birth certificate must be presented at registration.

The state also requires the verification of an immunization record, including dates.

State law also requires a physical examination and an oral health assessment.

The physical may occur six months prior to entering school and the oral health assessment may take place three months before school starts.
