Woman accused of knifing her boyfriend

A 48-year-old woman was arrested this week for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend while the two were in the midst of an argument.

Amanda Bertik and Drew Reynolds, 52, were having an argument around 6:30 p.m. Feb. 15 in an apartment they share in the 1500 block of Jefferson Way, just north of the Simi Valley Town Center, according to a police report.

During the argument, Bertik grabbed a steak knife and lunged several times at Reynolds, Simi police said. Officers allege that during one of the lunges, Bertik stabbed Reynolds in the abdomen and then ran from the apartment.

Reynolds was treated at the scene by paramedics for a puncture wound.

Police officers, including helicopter and K-9 units, searched the area. Bertik was found a short time later hiding in a neighboring apartment. The knife was recovered.

Bertik was arrested and booked on one count of assault with a deadly weapon. She was released Tuesday on bail and is expected back in Ventura County court on Feb. 23 to be arraigned.
