Simi Valley Library is turning 30

The Simi Valley Library will celebrate its 30th anniversary from 2 to 4 p.m. Sun., Feb. 21 at the library, 2969 Tapo Canyon Road.

The event will feature a guest speaker from the Simi Valley Historical Society discussing the history of libraries in Simi Valley.

Children’s events will include a performance by the Alphabet Soup Puppeteers, “A Red, White, and Blue Day”; storytelling with local children’s book author and artist Mary Ann Fraser; and arts and crafts and Paws 4 Healing Inc. READ Program with reading education assistance dogs.

The city library is a branch of the Ventura County Library. The library’s mission is to meet the general reading, life-long learning and informational needs of the people of Ventura County, with special focus on children, youth and families.
