Man wanted in violent hit-and-run
Police sketch
Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man responsible for a hit-andrun incident last month in the Taco Bell parking lot at 2360 Tapo St., Simi Valley.
On the night of Jan. 29, a 50-year-old Simi man in line at the restaurant’s drive-thru window saw the Mercedes Benz in front of him begin to back up. When the man honked his horn, the Mercedes pulled out of line and an occupant threw something at his vehicle, according to the police report.
The man got out of his car and walked over to the Mercedes, which began backing up. The man grabbed hold of the driver’s door and was reportedly dragged several feet before he let go and fell to the pavement. Before pulling away, the driver of the Mercedes backed up and struck the victim with the rear end of his car.
The rear taillight of the Mercedes was shattered. The car was described as a fourdoor sedan, black or dark in color, possibly a 2006-07 model. The description given for the driver indicates a Hispanic or Middle Eastern man about 25 years old.
The victim was treated at Simi Valley Hospital for a bump on the head and cuts on his right arm and then released.
