City pushing energy efficiency
The city of Simi Valley has partnered with Southern California Edison to educate and encourage resident to save energy. Residents and businesses will have the opportunity to take part in workshops, educational events and programs where they will learn how to save money by saving energy.
During the three-year partnership, the city has committed to a variety of projects to increase the energy efficiency of its facilities, with initial estimates indicating a savings of nearly 750,000 kilowatt hours.
During the past few years, the city has been engaged in energyefficiency programs such as replacing traffic intersection lights with LED bulbs and installing energyefficient light fixtures in city offices to decrease energy consumption.
