Presentation on special ed will focus on transition into adult life

The Ventura County Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) will present a program, “Transition: From School to Adult Life,” from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wed., Feb. 17 at Sinaloa Middle School, 601 Royal Ave., Simi Valley.

The program is for families of secondary and post-secondary special education students and the professionals who work with them.

Attendees can learn about transition services language requirements in an individual education plan and meet with representatives from the following agencies: Social Security Administration, Department of Rehabilitation, TriCounties Regional Center, Department of Behavioral Health, Employment Development Department and community colleges.

The session will be in English, but Spanish and sign language interpretation will be available if they were previously requested.

There is no cost to attend.
