‘The Wedding Singer’ will brim with ’80s nostalgia

Actors Repertory Theatre of Simi will open its production of the musical “The Wedding Singer” at 8 p.m. Sat., Feb. 27 at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center, 3050 Los Angeles Ave.

The show runs weekends through April 4. Performance times are 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sunday matinees. Audience members are encouraged to arrive at least 20 minutes before curtain.

The Sun., March 28 performance features an after party “Back to the ’80s” prom night and dance with the ’80s tribute band, The 80z Allstars. Ask the box office for details.

The play was written by Chad Beguelin and Tim Herlihy, with music and lyrics by Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin. It’s based on the 1998 film starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore.

“The Wedding Singer” is a light romantic comedy set in a world of ’80s-filled nostalgia.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $16 for seniors and students, and $14 for children 12 and under.

The show contains adult content, and parental guidance is recommended for children under 12.
