Tip leads to alleged tagger’s arrest

A 15-year-old boy was arrested last Friday after Simi Valley police say they caught him in the act of defacing Sycamore Elementary School.

At 9:49 p.m. on Jan. 29, the police department responded to a citizen’s call regarding vandalism in progress at the school. The citizen observed the juvenile spray-painting graffiti on the walls of the school and gave the officers his description, a police report said.

Following his arrest, the boy was also found responsible for several other acts of graffiti vandalism in the city. The Special Problems Section is investigating related incidents.
