Ventura County Humane Society looking for volunteers, drivers

The Humane Society of Ventura County is seeking volunteers to help with the ongoing operation of its Ojai animal shelter and to assist the private nonprofit organization with its off-site fundraising activities.

Volunteers are needed for the following tasks: participating in animal yard checks, clerical work, answering phones, manning informational booths at community events, creating fundraising events, locating sites to sell walnuts donated by Black Mountain Ranch, and collecting cash donation boxes on routes in Ventura County.

Drivers are needed mostly in Santa Paula, Fillmore and Moorpark.

Training with Humane Society officers is required before performing the animal yard checks.
