Happy face on hill just another form of graffiti
      Reading the Jan. 29 Acorn, I see some concern about graffiti and keeping Simi graffiti-free. Well, I see that the Simi Rotary Club is supporting to have the socalled Happy Face Hill re-marked again by a non-Simi resident. The city has done a good job curbing graffiti. But look at Big Rock on Kuehner Drive and see how many times it’s been fixed.

We should help ourselves before we help others
      What ticks me off is this telethon they did for Haiti and here the U.S. is suffering with homeless on the streets. San Diego was full of people sleeping in doorways of businesses. When will George Clooney do a telethon for U.S. victims of the economy, and when will John Travolta fly supplies to them? I hate this.

Government agencies can’t get on the same page
      It has become obvious to me that our federal, state and local governments have been making their budgets in error. Some departments seem to be overfunded while other items and issues go unresolved and ignored. Forever. The apparent game appears to be that each department goes out to increase their own portion of the proverbial pie of revenues to maintain their status quo.
