Solution to spray paint often worse than the problem

I want to thank the Simi Valley Acorn for openly discussing the ever-growing problem of graffiti.

We moved here to Simi Valley back in 1992. One reason we did was because there was no graffiti to speak of.

I, like many residents, have seen this problem continue to grow and appreciate the city’s effort in attempting to keep up with it, although I do not call spraying tan color paint over rocks and concrete cleanup.

I would really like to see these block and concrete companies like Angelus Block and Sprague’s Ready Mix show a little more interest in resolving this problem.

I really think there is some kind of prohibiting agent that can be placed on the block walls or even possibly the same color stain that could be sprayed or rolled to blend with the existing block walls. At times, the colors that the cleanup crews use are colors that actually look worse than the graffiti itself

Have we forgotten about wire brushes or sandblasting some of the areas that are clearly being ruined by painting over them, such as rocks?
