Auditions are taking place through February in cities throughout Ventura County for individual and group vocalists to perform for the Kids Playing for Kids II concert May 2 at The Canyon night club in Agoura Hills.

Performers should choose three rock, pop, R&B or hip-hop songs and submit the song names, artist and contact information to audition@bbsvc.org. The application deadline is Feb. 7.

Applicants will be contacted with the dates, times and locations for their audition.

Singers should be prepared to perform any of their three choices accompanied by the house band, which will include drum set (acoustic and electric), guitar, bass, keyboards, percussion and horns if necessary. Vocal and performance talent will be evaluated.

Rehearsal schedules will be determined at a future date.

Those selected will perform Sun., May 2 at The Canyon in either the day or evening concert. Each performer will have a 10- to 12-minute set of three to four songs. All performers will be provided with a videotape of their performance.

All performers agree that their performance and image may be used by Big Brothers Big Sisters. The concert is a fundraiser for the organization.
