Truck collides with city bus
A city-owned bus and a pickup truck collided the morning of Thurs., Jan. 21 at Sequoia Avenue and Alamo Street. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
Witnesses told police that the driver of the blue Dodge pickup failed to stop for a red light as she drove north on Sequoia Avenue. Her truck collided with the bus in the middle of the intersection. The truck stopped on the center divider just west of the intersection, while the bus narrowly missed light and signal poles and an electrical box and stopped on a plant-covered incline on the northwest corner.
The driver of the bus had no visible injuries. The woman who drove the pickup complained of pain on the left side of her body.
Both vehicles were towed away and appeared to be totaled, according to a police report.
The collision is being investigated by officers of the Simi Valley Police Department’s traffic unit.
