Free Clinic names new board president

Maggie Kestly Maggie Kestly Leasing and property manager and community leader Maggie Kestly has been selected to serve as president of the board of directors for the Free Clinic of Simi Valley.

Kestly has been with Mid Valley Properties for 23 years, managing a portfolio of 1 million square feet in Ventura County, and has Certified Property Manager and Certified Commercial Investment Member designations.

Currently Kestly serves on the Free Clinic board and the governing boards for the Simi Valley Community Foundation and the Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise, of which she is immediate past president. 

Previously she served on the boards for the Boys & Girls Club of Simi Valley and the Jewish Life Center. She served as Simi Valley City Councilmember Michelle Foster’s appointee on the Simi Valley General Plan Advisory Committee.

Kestly has served on the Free Clinic’s board of directors since 2003 and succeeds Harry VanDyck, who served two years as the Free Clinic’s president.

Other officers elected to the clinic’s 2010 executive board are Ron Hyrchuk, vice president; Kurt Fredrickson, secretary; and Harry VanDyck, treasurer. 

Board members are Noel Kelsch, Curt Witeby, Diane Goldenring, Polly Vlasic, Don Sturt, Judy Gobble, Phyllis Wilson, Dennis Benton, Keith Jajko, Leigh Nixon and Fred Bauermeister.   The Free Clinic of Simi Valley provides medical services and legal assistance to individuals and families, regardless of their ability to pay, as a nonprofit, volunteer-based community service organization.
